I & C, Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Technician

  1. Control and Instrumentation
    • DCS and/or PLC programming for power industry applications preferably on Alan Bradley Siemens and Hima system
    • Ability to program and configure smart instruction
    • Maintenance of station control system and field instrumentation including water and steam cycle instrumentation
    •  In depth knowledge of Analysers, CEMS and Chromatograph
    • Provide C&I Specification and advice for maternal section

  1. Mechanical Technician
    • Mechanical maintenance activities on gas & steam turbines, heat recovery, steam generator, boilers, distillers and other associated plant auxiliaries
    • Capable of handling technical work on large rotating equipment attached to CCPP and desalination plant including rigging and troubleshooting
    • Must be able to interpret manufacturer’s instruction, drawing and recommendations and translate these into specific task

    • Able to read Electrical Schematic Drawing

Person Specification

For all disciplines the following are the minimum person requirements

  1. Diploma in Electronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  2. 2-3 years Apprenticeship training in a Power or Process industry
  3. 5 years experience in a Power and Water station or large process industry
  4. Exposure to or ability top conform  to the Power Station safety rules and regulations and to work within guidelines to ensure safe and efficient work practice at all times, to receive permit to works and limitation of access to perform specified jobs
  5. Ability to supervise the work of tradesmen or skilled or unskilled contracts within a multicultural environment
  6. Ability to diagnose faults orginise work plan and arrange spares and consumable as required.

Field Chemist Job Description:

Purpose of the Position:

Perform day to day activities of chemical analysis and laboratory routine and non-routine tests and assist in the operation of the plant.

Reports to:

            Chief Chemist

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Performs chemical analysis to include water oil, scale, flue gas which are taken from field sampling.
  2. Set-up and calibrates laboratory equipment and apparatus.
  3. Prepares chemical reagents and standards solution used for laboratory analysis.
  4. To supervise the daily chemicals make-up activities.
  5. Carry-out acid cleaning and similar process in emergency cases.
  6. Monitors and maintains records chemical tanks levels and dosing pumps stroke.
  7. Assist Lab Chemist in preparing reports and inputting data into the computer.
  8. Interprets analysis data and take necessary actions.
  9. Periodically, ensures that lab. Equipment and chemicals are in good condition for using.
  10. Inspects the boiler and distillers in events of shutdown.
  11. Perform lab. Analysis manually in events of laboratory equipment breakdown.
  12. Be familiar with station safety rules and apply safety handling procedures with the section.
  13. Operate the Demineralization plant and perform the required analysis and acid cleaning.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1.    Plan and execute routine maintenance activities and trouble shooting associated with mechanical equipment in plant.
2.    Implement preventive maintenance program for all mechanical equipment.
3.    Plan and execute major overhauls on gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers and desalination plant.
4.    Prepare maintenance procedures for plant equipment repair activities (routine /capital maintenance).
5.    Ensure efficient and safe working of all mechanical equipment in the plant.
6.  Analyze condition monitoring reports and implement necessary changes to improve reliability/availability of the plant equipment.
7.    Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities.
8.    Assess the performance of subordinates and help in their training and development.

  • Assist in the preparation of section budget.
  • Prepare technical reports as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence with all health, safety and environmental regulations.

Person Specification

  1. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institute.
  2. Minimum of 10 years in maintenance as Mechanical Engineer of Gas turbines, Steam Turbines, Boilers, Desalination plant  and other plant auxiliaries.
    1. Knowledge of statutory requirements related to boilers and other pressure parts
    2. Knowledge of basic metallurgy

Electrical Engineer      

Work Requirement:-
           
1.         Conversant with electrical Schematic drawings.
2 .         On hand experience of maintenance & trouble shooting of electrical systems such as Excitation System, Starting Equipment, Protection System, Generator, Transformers, Battery, Battery Chargers, Inverters, Motors, HT/LT Switchgears etc. Preference shall be given to a person who has experience with ABB Unitrol System (Excitation / Starting Equipment) & ABB REG protection system.
3.         Capability of analyzing faults in electrical systems based on event and alarm signal received.
4.         Conversant with Preventive, Predictive, Breakdown & Major Overhauling maintenance of electrical equipments.
5.         Conversant in writing technical details of spares and work specifications.
6.         Capable of handling Contractors, Supervision of skilled and unskilled tradesmen with good leadership qualities during preventive, predictive & breakdown plant maintenance work including minor and major overhaul of units, auxiliaries and common plant.

Field Operator – Power & Desalination Job Profile & Skills

Purpose of Job:

To operate power/desalination [950+MW, 90MIGD] units such as to ensure reliable operations and due care for safety and environment.

Reports to:

            Shift Engineer

Operational requirements:

  1. Knowledge to carry out electrical switching and isolations
  2. Knowledge of Lock out and tag procedure for Work permit preparations.
  3. Ability to log plant readings, and carry out routine checks like vibration monitoring etc.,
  4. Awareness of Power Plant Safety concept in handling of Electrical systems, Fuels and chemicals
  5. Knowledge of Fire fighting systems, their operation and routing checks

 Person Specification:

  1. Technical diploma level or higher.
  2. Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in the operation of one or more of the following:
    1. Gas Turbines & Steam Turbines
    2. Heat recovery Boilers & Fuel fired Boilers,

CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR – JOB PROFILE & SKILLS

 Purpose of Job:

To operate power/desalination [950+MW, 90MIGD] units such as to ensure reliable operations and due care for safety and environment.

Reports to:

            Shift Engineer

Operational requirements:

  1. Independently carry out Start-up and Shut-down of Plant units (Gas Turbines / Boilers / Desalination Units) and equipments in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Understand plant abnormalities from varying plant parameters at an earlier stage and take corrective action.
  3. Read and analyze Alarms and Event logs received in the Control Desk and take appropriate trouble shooting action in coordination with field staff.
  4. Acknowledge and take appropriate actions on Fire monitoring system alarms, and carry out routine testing of fire siren etc.,
  5. Identify isolation points for work permit issuance, and coordinate for its execution.

Person Specification:

  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  2. Technical Education up to Diploma level or above
  3. Ability to analyze various thermodynamic, electrical and chemical parameters of the operating plant and take actions required if any.

I&C Engineer Job Description

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understanding in depth the instrumentation principles with the ability to read and understand p & id drawings, having practical and theoretical background of instrument's calibration and loop testing.
  • To carry out  the maintenance and configuration of the distributed control systems ABB Advant OCS – AC450, AC160 , ES100 and Siemens PCS7 ,  Siemens S7-300 and Allen Bradley PLC5 /PLC500  programmable logic controllers, HIMA combustion monitoring systems,  Various panel mounted controllers of Valves , Gas heaters and Diesel Engines, and other equipment used in the control and monitoring of the various process units.
  • To carry out the development of graphics and system administration Of Operating Stations Of  Siemens WinCC , Advant OCS OS500 and AB RsView.
  • To assist Maintenance in troubleshooting and analysis of mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Monitoring the Gas Turbines, Boilers, Steam Turbine, Desalination Units and Balance of Plants for reliable performance, optimizing the process control algorithms, and implementing the enhancements according to established procedures.
  • To be responsible for DCS communication with Settlement System and to maintain OPC Servers and Modbus Communication with HPC Client.
